Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida burst into cheers when Governor Ron DeSantis announced his idea to send illegal immigrants to President Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.

The idea is in response to federal attempts to route illegal immigrants to the Sunshine State.

“Since I became governor, we banned sanctuary cities in the state of Florida,” DeSantis declared.

“And we are in the process of getting money from the state legislature so that if Biden is dumping illegal aliens into Florida from the southern border, I’m rerouting them to Delaware.”

The line was clearly a crowd-pleaser.

DeSantis Sending Illegal Immigrants to Delaware

In an ideal nation, one that secures its own borders and takes immigration laws seriously, DeSantis wouldn’t have to reroute illegal immigrants to Delaware.

The federal government and Border Control would reroute them out of the country until they follow the proper process.

But this could be the next best approach – sending them to blue states, sanctuary states, where Democrats and their voters will have to accept the consequences.

The idea isn’t brand new – DeSantis first posited such a response back in November of 2021.

DeSantis claimed months ago that the Biden administration was conducting “clandestine” flights of illegal immigrants into the Sunshine State.

“Here’s what happens with these flights. There’s no notification to the state of Florida. These are done mostly in the middle of the night. And it’s clandestine,” he said at a press conference.

Settling Throughout the US

Reports began surfacing in October that the Biden administration was flying planeloads of illegal immigrants from Texas to New York in an effort to resettle them into the region.

In an op-ed column addressing the story, the New York Post editorial board accused President Biden of “playing a deadly game using secret flights to move migrants.”

The flights were also reportedly going to Florida.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended the actions being taken, saying it should be “no surprise” they’re doing it.

Police video surfaced in January showing illegal immigrants being flown by federal contractors into an airport in New York in the dead of night.

The video shows federal contractors explaining to a police officer in charge of security at the facility that the illegal immigrant flights, which have reportedly been conducted at the Westchester County Airport since August, are to be “on the down-low.”

“The government is betraying the American people,” one contractor can be heard telling a police officer.

Governor DeSantis has threatened to send illegal immigrants to Delaware for some time now.

“If they’re going to come here, we’ll provide buses,” DeSantis said back in November. “I will send them to Delaware and do that.”

“If he’s [Biden] not going to support the border being secure, then he should be able to have everyone there,” he added.

Florida recently joined a multi-state lawsuit against the Biden administration for reinstating an Obama-era program that allows illegal immigrants to enter and remain in the United States.
