After years of going shamelessly woke, Disney appears to have finally admitted defeat in the culture wars that are currently raging in this country.

Disney CEO Backs Down

The New York Post reported that Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger assured investors this week that Disney will “quiet the noise” in the culture war that has pitted conservatives against the increasingly radically liberal entertainment world.

He said this during an investors presentation at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, adding that over the next decade, Disney will double its investment in theme parks and cruise ships.

Iger’s latest comments mirror ones he made back in April, when he responded to a fed-up investor who complained that Disney has gone from “a place of magic for children” to an “ideological company serving the LGBTQ” community that promoted a “woke agenda.”

“Our primary mission needs to be to entertain … and to have a positive impact on the world,” Iger said in response at the time. “I’m very serious about that. It should not be agenda-driven.”

Iger Discusses Parents

“We should be sensitive to the fact that parents have different levels of comfort with the content that is delivered to their children. I want parents to be able to trust the content that we’re creating for their children,” he continued, adding that Disney is “committed to delivering age-appropriate content for family audiences while also telling stories that reflect the world around us and that foster greater understanding, greater perspective, greater acceptance of all people.”

“My hope that Disney continues to be a source of hope and optimism for the world,” he concluded. “And we’re honored to actually carry forth Walt’s legacy of inspiring joy and wonder for everyone.”

Disney got political last year, when it spoke out against Florida legislation restricting classroom discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis fired back by slamming “woke Disney” and teaming up with the state legislature to strip the company of self-governing authority over the parks.

‘Same Mistake As Bud Light’

This comes a month after Disney faced a boycott for teaming up with a gender-fluid social media influencer to promote women’s clothes. Former Anheuser-Busch executive Anson Frericks warned that this was a “big mistake” similar to the one that Bud Light made earlier this year, when it partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

“They are making the same mistake as Bud Light, and I think they’ve been making the same mistake as Bud Light for over a year now,” Frericks told Fox Business. “They’re making a big mistake getting involved in these controversial political issues that have nothing to do with the mission statement of what they’re trying to achieve.”

“They’re making a big mistake getting involved in these controversial political issues that have nothing to do with the mission statement of what they’re trying to achieve,” he continued.

Brands everywhere are learning the hard way that “go woke, go broke” is very real indeed. We’re glad to see that Disney is finally getting the message that there are millions of parents out there who have no intention of allowing their children to be indoctrinated with their woke agenda.
